Scouting activities to develop life skills for children and youth

   In March 2024, COERR conducted scouting activities in 3 temporary shelters, i.e. Umpiem and Nupo in Tak province and Tham Him in Ratchaburi province, in which a total of 300 children and youth participated in these activities. The objective of this activity was to promote children and youth’s self-development with emphasis on working as a team and trained them to be patient, sacrifice, generous, disciplinary and have a sense of unity. Moreover, the scouting activities aimed at raising awareness of children and youth to be moral, ethical and create consciousness of contributing to the society.

   The scouting activity was comprised of 6 training bases, as follows; 1) disaster risk reduction base (basic firefighting training) 2) environmental protection 3) first aid basic course 4) life skills (i.e. organic farming) 5) waste separation using 3Rs - reduce, reuse and recycle 6) self-protection from drugs.
